The Rolling Stones have long been (arguably) the biggest rock and roll band in the world, playing stadiums for decades, often commanding top dollar for access to their performances. So, a new book with more than 500 pages of images and illustrations chronicling the revered British band’s rise to fame, many of which have never before been seen, would logically also demand top dollar, right?
Simply titled The Rolling Stones, the limited-edition, hardcover book (just 1,150 will be printed) will go for a whopping $5,000 dollars per copy. Just what does this seemingly insane cost get you? Photos from David Bailey, Peter Beard, Cecil Beaton, Bob Bonis, Anton Corbijn, Annie Leibovitz, Gered Mankowitz, Helmut Newton, Bent Rej, and Norman Parkinson for one. A forward by President Bill Clinton for two. Also, the book will feature new essays and will be signed by the four living members of the band.
